Elections and Vacancies

You can make a difference in your community by working with your parish, either by becoming a councillor or by just working close together.

Getting involved could be for you if:

  • You want to get things done in your local community?
  • Are worried about how cutbacks might affect your local services?
  • Would you like to take a more active role within your community?

Currently there are six vacancies on the parish council.

If you are interested in finding out more about being a councillor, please contact the clerk on 01386 430393 or email clerk@mickletonparishcouncil.co.uk

Ordinary local elections take place on the first Thursday in May every four years. The next elections will take place in May 2023.

However, if a councillor resigns in the interim, then the council fill the seat using the casual vacancy procedure. All councillors are either elected or co-opted volunteers from the local community.
